In the early 1990s we began in modest premises in an under cover 700 sqm warehouse in Melbourne. By 2003, we grew into a 2,000 sqm site in Melbourne. In 2006, increased demand in Queensland led to the opening of our first branch office in Brisbane, then Perth in 2011 and Sydney in 2015…and we keep on growing!
In August 2007, Actech secured an aging industrial site in Pascoe Vale, approximately 10km from Melbourne CBD. After 12 months of refurbishment, we moved into our new headquarters.
The national headquarter office includes training rooms, and a climate controlled data center housing servers for our accounting systems, processing hundreds of transactions per day.
Covering an area of 8,000 m² of building space, including a freestanding office building, this site now forms our national headquarters and major distribution center for the southern half of Australia, and for all exporting. We are able to deliver our products to Western Australia, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, and New South Wales, within 2 working days.
In addition, we have on-site manufacturing of chemical products and machinery. We also have a repair center and hire service for machinery and panel props.
Our Melbourne showroom has a full precast panel on display, with more formwork displays to come, that demonstrate the range and versatility of our products. We also have an on-site area dedicated to testing and demonstration of power tools and other equipment.
In 2005, Actech set up its first satellite branch in Brisbane’s north in the subrub of Brendale. In 2010, we moved to bigger premises in Banyo, and in 2018 we moved to a even bigger building in Northgate which approximately 10km north from Brisbane’s central business district. This new distribution center is close to Brisbane’s major arterial, the Gateway Freeway, at the Nudgee Rd exit. Only 5 minutes from Brisbane airport and 10 minutes from the Gateway Bridge makes this location extremely convenient for visitors and freight movements to service our local Brisbane clients as well as those in the rest of Queensland, Northern Territory and Northern NSW.
This 3,500 sqm facility is more than triple the size of our first premises in Brendale as the branch continues to grow. A bigger showroom and training facilities also form part of the new premises.
In 2011 we opened a new branch in Kenwick Perth approximately 12km east of Perth’s central business district. This new distribution center is just off the Kenwick Link which integrates to the Tonkin and Roe Highway systems providing an extremely convenient location for visitors and freight movements to service our local Perth clients as well as those in the rest of WA.
Best of all, this 2,000 sqm facility carries stock. Not 2-5 day waiting periods for goods to come from the East – our aim is to make sure you can get goods same day if required.
In July 2015, Actech launched its latest branch in Sydney’s west in Arndell Park. This branch is located off Reservoir Rd near its exit of the M4 freeway, and is easily accessible from the M4 as well as the M7 which intersects nearby.
The site is 3000m2 and is full of stock! Whilst in the past NSW customers had goods shipped from Brisbane or Melbourne which added time and freight costs, our new facility will eliminate those problems, giving Sydney and NSW Customers better service and cheaper deliveries.
Actech is fully AUSTRALIAN owned and does not form part of any overseas multinational conglomerate. Founded in 1991 it has grown to become a national operation servicing not just Australia but also exporting to NZ, PNG, SE Asia and Pacific Island customers.
